I can’t quite figure out the purpose of the skis. . . but they look really cool.

He is wearing skis because the jump was a promo stunt for a ski show and movie. They built a mini ski jump on top of the Silver Legacy from which the parachutists launched.

Oh wow! Nice stunt. What I want to know is whether or not he landed where he was supposed to. Major ouch, if not.

The guy in the picture landed okay. Another jumper, however, got a ski tangled in the ropes to where he couldn’t steer and landed in the street, just missing a building. He walked away, a lucky fellow. Maybe he should have gone right into one of the casinos before the streak ended.
