If you want to know just what they do at the UNR farm, attend Main Station Field Day
2008 this Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be four different tours of the facility, each emphasizing a particular aspect of the work and research being
conducted at the farm. You can also attend public forums and treat the kids to a hay ride. There's even a free lunch provided by Wolf Pack Meats.
You must register to attend. To do so, go to the Main Station Field Day 2008 online registration form. For additional information, contact Asta Ratliff at asta@cabnr.unr.edu or call (775) 784-1660.
The Main Station Farm (University of Nevada, Reno’s Agricultural Experiment Station) is in east Reno, on the east side of McCarran Blvd. at 5895 Clean Water Way in Reno. That's just north of the McCarran - Mill Street intersection. There are signs, farm buildings, and 1,000 acres of pasture with grazing cows, sheep, and Canada geese. You'll have a hard time missing it.
