Taking classes through the Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WDCE) program at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a way to learn new skills and have some fun. Continuing education classes cover a wide range of general subjects, including dance, computing, writing, and cultures and religion. Workforce development classes include such topics as forklift safety, industrial safety, and wildland firefighting. You can even sign up for educational field trips to places like the Black Rock Desert and Ruby Mountains (I've done both of those). These are non-credit classes designed for personal enrichment and various types of business education. You may not get college credit, but you will come away with new and useful knowledge.

Both classroom and online courses are offered from WDCE. I took an online database and programming class and found it to be a worthwhile learning experience. To see a list of everything, go to WDCE Programs.

WDCE is based at the TMCC Meadowood Campus, 5270 Neil Road, Reno, Nevada 89502. The information phone number is (775) 829-9010.
