The article notes towns deemed to be current outdoor and urban adventure hot spots with plans to keep heading in that direction. Reno / Tahoe certainly fits the description. You can actually get a real job here and the cost of living is still fairly reasonable (compared to California at least). The green living thing is catching on, including an official program by the Reno city government called Keeping It Green! Depending on the time of year, you can go skiing and snowboarding, hiking, boating on Lake Tahoe, kayak and whitewater raft the Truckee River, ride famous mountain biking trails, explore the outback on an ATV, watch wildlife, and on and on. You can do more than one of these in a single day. When you get back to Reno's revitalizing downtown, there is nightlife, entertainment, and lots of great restaurants from which to choose.
