West Street Market Opens Wednesday

West Street Market, a project of Reno's Redevelopment Agency, is set for a partial opening on Wednesday evening. Parts of the market are still under construction, with the outdoor courtyard vendors opening the first phase. Indoor markets and restaurants in the surrounding buildings along the east side of West Street are scheduled for completion in October. The timing of the opening gives us another fun thing to do while downtown during July attending Artown events.

West Street Market will be open Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with each day having a different theme. Nevada EcoNet hosts Wednesdays, devoted to food production and sustainable living. Fridays are arts and crafts fair nights hosted by the Holland Project. Saturday mornings will be like your traditional farmers' market with lots of food grown right here in Nevada. You can also visit the Saturday morning market on nearby California Street.

I'm looking forward to the new West Street Market. I think it's going to be a great addition to the visitor friendly atmosphere emerging in downtown Reno. Learn about parking and other details from Reno's West Street Market website.
