Whole Foods Market opens in Reno.

Reno got its first Whole Foods Market Wednesday when the store opened to a throng of waiting customers. I checked it out today and found what I would call a luxurious and large food market, packed with everything you would expect and plenty more. From the espresso bar to the bulk foods to the specialty department of wine, cheeses and other fancy foodstuffs, the store seems to have everything for both gourmand and everyday eater. Opening specials are abundant, but don't wait too long or they will fade away. After the hoopla dies down, look for deals in Whole Foods' house brand called 365 Everyday Value, among which you will find both organic and regular items.
Something I really like about Whole Foods is that they stock produce from local growers, including Lattin Farms of Fallon and Home Grown Nevada of Wellington. Check out the new Whole Foods Market on S. Virginia Street and see what you think.
