The Summer Solstice (longest day of the year) is the 20th. That gives us ample sunshine to be out and about, enjoying any of numerous events lined up for the next few days. Throw in a perfect
weather forecast and we've got a fine start to summer. No one could possibly take in everything, so here's a list from which to choose:
Tour de Nez Bike Races continue up at Northstar and in Truckee.
Reno Rodeo Parade is Saturday, and the Reno Rodeo rides all next week.
Chalk the Walk Streetpainting Festival is at Harrah's Plaza, next to the parade route on Virginia Street.
Whitewater Raft and Music Festival is Saturday at Wingfield Park.
River Walk Wine Walk is Saturday afternoon in downtown Reno.
Get to Know Your Neighbor Week starts on Saturday throughout the area.
Magiko celebrates summer in the Carson Valley through July 5.
