The Memorial Day three-day weekend offers plenty to do around Reno / Tahoe. Attractions like Wild Island Family Adventure Park in Sparks will be open. If you can afford the gas, it should be a pleasant time to enjoy a visit to Lake Tahoe. If you can afford a little more gas, think about going to the Black Rock Rendezvous up in Gerlach.

For those wishing to take time on Memorial Day to honor those who have died defending our country, there will be a Celebration of Heroes Parade in Virginia City, services at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City, and services at other memorial parks in the area.

The weather forecast calls for a possibility of thunderstorms over the weekend, with coolish temperatures in the 50s and 60s. This being Nevada, conditions can vary drastically within a few miles, so what you get is going to depend on where you are.
