The 2008 greenUP! campaign was officially launched on April 17, at a ceremony outside Patagonia's LEED building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) in west Reno. Representatives from Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, and other public and private groups were there to lend support and urge community involvement.

greenUP! is a campaign designed to promote the variety of environmental and economic sustainability efforts, projects, and businesses throughout the Reno / Tahoe region. There is a lot going on, which you will discover by reading my story about the greenUP! Initiative in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County.

April 26 is the last day of Reno's 2008 Spring Clean & Green Event. If you haven't taken advantage of this opportunity to rid yourself of accumulated trash and debris, find the Saturday collection locations for this last chance at free spring cleaning.
