It's been fun and interesting to see Reno / Tahoe redevelopment and revitalization over the last few years. We've got new high-rise condos downtown, the Truckee River Whitewater Park, an ice skating rink, Virginia Street upgrades, and a huge new shopping / entertainment complex under construction in Sparks. Numerous other projects, both public and private, are either under construction or in the planning stages.

Of course, what you see today started as ideas before coming to fruition. And not every idea made it past the idea stage. To see what might have been and how Reno could be looking radically different today. visit the Nevada Museum of Art for the Unbuilt Reno: Alternative Architectural Landscapes exhibition, on display through July 6, 2008.

Running concurrently is Frank Lloyd Wright and the House Beautiful, an exhibition of Wright's skill at designing living spaces.

The Nevada Museum of Art is located in downtown Reno at 160 West Liberty Street, Reno NV 89501. Gallery and museum store hours are Tuesday - Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Mondays and national holidays. Admission is $10 adults, $8 students and seniors (60+), $1 children 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under.
