Tune In To Kids Fair 2008

The 5th annual Tune In To Kids Fair is Saturday, April 12. A variety of family-oriented events will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Idlewild Park in Reno. The Fair is designed to restore and foster interaction between kids and parents in our media age. The focus is on six themes: parent involvement, reading and media literacy, hobbies and recreation, math and science, arts and culture, and health and fitness. According to the Tune In To Kids organization, "The goal of Tune In To Kids is to encourage families to live a real life, not a virtual life - it’s about balance."

Nevada Week for the Animals: The Nevada Humane Society, along with over 30 other rescue groups and shelters from Northern Nevada and California, are presenting the Reno - Sparks Super Adoption to help find adoptive homes for over 100 pets. The festive event, featuring demonstrations, fun activities for kids, and pet-related businesses, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Livestock Events Center Exhibit Hall, 1350 N. Wells Ave., Reno. Of course, pets available for adoption will be the center of attention.
