Super Snow Sunday

At the risk of sounding downright un-American, let me suggest an alternative to Super Bowl Sunday. Let's call it Super Snow Sunday.

Recent storms have dumped multiple feet of new powder around Lake Tahoe; snow conditions are about as good as it gets. The weather forecast looks good for Sunday, so getting up to the slopes should be a trouble-free jaunt. I'm predicting it will be relatively uncrowded as well, with hordes of powder monkeys parked in front of the tube instead of clogging the ski and snow play areas.

Go to our Winter Sports page to find downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and Lake Tahoe sledding areas. If you want to stick around town and maybe peek in on the game, try ice skating at Rink on the River in downtown Reno. Really, it's okay to miss the game.
